Digital Watch Information

Digital watches have been around for awhile now, although the majority have never caught on as being stylish. The reason for this could be that most digital watches are very basic, and cheap. There are some high end digital watches that are pretty fashionable such as the Casio G-SHOCK watch. The first Digital Watch was invented in 1970 and was a prototype made by the company Pulsar. Pulsar is a division of the popular watch manufacturer Seiko. The inspiration for the digital LED watch came from the digital clock. When it comes to pricing of digital watches, it is quite interesting at how much times have changed. Similar to computers and other electronics, digital watches were at one time very expensive. The first digital watch available for purchase was an 18k gold watch made by Pulsar, which retailed for $2,100.

One thing that really sets digital watches apart from conventional mechanical watches is the additional features that can be added into them. These features include a calculator, tv remote control, usb drive, voice recorder, and many many more. The Casio Techmowear line were digital watches that doubled as a tv remote by sending out signals using infra red. With the watch, you can turn the tv on and off, as well as change the channels and speaker volume.
