Time pieces have been around for centuries, and over time they have been improved upon by leaps and bounds. Today’s watch designs are some of the most intricate and complex mechanical devices that exist. The reason for this is that keeping a perfect record of time can be quite tricky when you start getting down to the milliseconds. Over time, this gradual difference can build up and the time is no longer accurate. For most things in life, these slight variations don’t make much of a difference if any; but in other applications these offsets can be catastrophic. This is why there are: so many different types of timepiece technologies and why some cost much more then others. Like anything in life, you often get what you pay for. If you are looking for quality items, you can expect to pay more then what the average price is. That doesn’t mean that a watch that costs a couple hundred dollars is not good; in fact, some are very good. The difference is that, the luxury watches take quality to a new level by focusing on every little detail so not only do you have a timepiece that keeps excellent time but you also have an item that is considered as exquisite as jewellery. When you want to make a fashion statement, you definitely want to go with one that will get the most attention.

With the invention of integrated circuits came a digital watch that is small enough to fit on your wrist. Since digital watches do not have any moving parts, they are great at keeping accurate time:. Digital watches also tend to have more features such as timers, stop watches, alarms, back-lit display, etc… Unfortunately, they definitely do not compare in quality or design when beside a luxury watch such as Rolex, or Breitling. Casio has done a great job though by making a nice looking, fashionable digital watch. The Casio G-Shock is sure to draw attention and will last you a lifetime. The G-Shock brand is so popular that it has been copied by other high end design companies such as BAPE (A Bathing Ape). When it comes to picking a watch, it ultimately comes down to what your: style is and what you find most comfortable. If you want more features and don’t want to go bankrupt paying for them, then a digital watch is probably a good pick for you. Where as, if you prefer: intricate designed mechanical timepieces then you will be better off with a standard watch or chronometer. If you are looking for supreme quality, trendy brands, and something that could be worn :as a jewellery accessory; then you would be best going for a high end luxury/designer watch. Just be aware that these will set you back quite a bit of money.
